Fuel Adjustment Factor

Due to the significant increase of Diesel and with price having jumped 121% since the end of February even with the really good rate we get via the Heavy Haulage Association with Mobil.

S&J Piloting will be implementing a fuel surcharge effective immediately from all new jobs booked from 12/04/2026.

 

Whether the job is charged hourly or km rates there will now be a separate line on invoice for this charge.

 

The charge is charged per km travelled & will be reviewed weekly as we get our buying rate on Fridays. This charge is purely based on the actual fuel usage that our diesel Fortuner/Hilux uses per km rather than a percentage. 

 

This surcharge is purely to offset the cost of diesel, and we are still wearing $0.05/km ourselves even with this surcharge in the bid to keep our pricing as competitive as possible.

 

Our pricing has been the same for the last 3 years however we now need to be adding a fuel surcharge. We have held off for the first 6 weeks but cannot continue to wear the extra cost.
