Fuel Adjustment Factor

20th June 2026:

Great news!!!! We have been able to remove the fuel surcharge due to the price of diesel dropping below $2 per Litre. We hope that the drop in fuel prices is a long term situation for everyone in New Zealand as a whole.

Right from the time of implementing the Faf charge we had hoped it was always going to be temporary for as short of a period as we could handle

S&J Piloting really appreciate the understanding and support from our clients during the periods of high fuel pricing

12th April 2026:

Due to the significant increase of Diesel and with price having jumped 121% since the end of February even with the really good rate we get via the Heavy Haulage Association with Mobil.

S&J Piloting will be implementing a fuel surcharge effective immediately from all new jobs booked from today.

Whether the job is charged hourly or km rates there will now be a separate line on invoice for this charge.

The charge is charged per km travelled & will be reviewed weekly as we get our buying rate on Fridays. This charge is purely based on the actual fuel usage that our diesel Fortuner/Hilux uses per km rather than a percentage.

This surcharge is purely to offset the cost of diesel, and we are still wearing $0.05/km ourselves even with this surcharge in the bid to keep our pricing as competitive as possible.

Our pricing has been the same for the last 3 years however we now need to be adding a fuel surcharge. We have held off for the first 6 weeks of the USA/Iran conflict but cannot continue to wear the extra cost.

We really do appreciate being able to assist your company and drivers and we thank you for your continued custom.
